SII Makes Donation to American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces

July 7, 2016 – Landover, MD – Systems Integration, Inc. (SII) is a long-time partner of the American Red Cross. Providing technological support at a national level for the Biomedical Services arm of the Red Cross, the company recently decided to make a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces department.

The donation will fund the creation of support materials for premobilization military briefings, emergency communications, reconnection workshops, and educational pieces for military members and their families at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). It will also help provide support for the families of fallen soldiers, as well as the creation and distribution of comfort kits which will be distributed at local Veterans Affairs (VA) centers and veteran stand down processing stations.

“We’re thrilled to be able to extend the reach of our support for the American Red Cross to include military men, women, and their families,” said Srinath Narayan, Chairman and CEO of SII. “The Service to the Armed Forces department provides such a broad range of valuable programs beginning with enlistment and continuing through veterans services and we’re proud to be able to help them fulfill their mission.”

Nationally, the Services to the Armed Forces department has assisted more than 57,000 military families and provided more than 32,000 emergency communications this year alone.

Since July 2015, the Greater Chesapeake Region provided assistance to more than 1,200 military members and their families. The Region also hosted more than 250 resiliency courses and reached more than 10,000 service members and their families with Get to Know Us briefings throughout Maryland and Delaware.

“The donation made by SII will help expand our services to military members and their families throughout the county and here in the Greater Chesapeake Region,” said Scott R. Salemme, Regional CEO for the Greater Chesapeake Region. “With their support, we will be able to raise awareness for some of our lesser known, but incredibly important, programs and services that have a direct benefit to the military community.”
